About us
Oki! Hola! Tansi! Hello! Welcome to "15 Apparel," where tradition meets contemporary style. Michellaine Sleigh and Kelvin Peña Vasquez are the founders of this unique apparel store 15 Apparel proudly reflects Canadian Indigenous Treaty 7 designs and Latin heritage. The 15 from 15 Apparel comes from the birthdays of Michellaine and Kelvin’s sons. Ironically they were both born on April 15th, but are three years apart. Michellaine and Kelvin didn’t plan this and therefore the number 15 became a special number for them. That is how 15 Apparel came to be. Inspired by the rich tapestry of Blackfoot culture and Latin aesthetics, 15 Apparel offers a collection that harmoniously blends ancient traditions with modern fashion. Every garment tells a story, weaving together the spirit of the Blackfoot people and the vibrancy of Latin design. There are many items to choose from and many of the accessories at 15 Apparel are hand made with love. Join us on a journey where heritage is worn with pride, and each purchase supports a celebration of diverse cultures.
Meet Us
Meet Kelvin Peña Vasquez, originally from the Dominican Republic. Kelvin came to Canada 10 years ago and was instantly drawn and connected to the Indigenous people of Canada. Kelvin found a place he can call home away from home. We was accepted him with open arms by the Indigenous peoples. He attended Powwows where he met Michellaine. Kelvin is one of partner owners behind 15 Apparel. He is also of the creative minds behind 15 Apparel. With a passion for fashion and an eye for style, Kelvin embarked on the journey of entrepreneurship to curate a unique shopping experience. From handpicking the latest trends to fostering unique designs, Kelvin has turned 15 Apparel into a go-to destination for Indigenous fashion enthusiasts. With a keen understanding of customer preferences, Kelvin continues to shape the apparel and accessories into a fashion haven that reflects both sophistication and individuality. Kelvin loves incorporating his Dominican culture such as some of the flower designs into the apparel he makes.
